Support me at the Big Brothers Big Sisters NY Race!

Dear Family and Friends,

I have just registered as a participant in the 6th annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City RBC Race for the Kids – part of Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play. The Race is designed to raise valuable awareness and funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City’s programs and services.  Any amount, great or small, allows BBBS of NYC to help underserved children by providing them with caring adult mentors who help to expand their horizons and enrich their futures.

Race for the Kids is a day that celebrates the POWER OF MENTORING, while promoting the importance of health and exercise, and empowers all participants to change the lives of our City’s young people!

The Race takes place on Saturday, September 25th; but my race starts today— the race toward my fundraising target! Please support me in this important project by visiting my fundraising page and making a contribution. Making a tax-deductible donation online makes supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City Race for the Kids quick and easy; however, if you would prefer, you can send your contribution to the address listed below.

To send a donation: Make all checks payable to: Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City RBC Race for the Kids Mail to: Brandon Gerena 1440 Broadway 19th floor New York, NY 10018-2301

Whatever you can give will help - it all adds up! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Sincerely,

Brandon Gerena

Hey LIRR - Listen Up!

Stop running your old trains that are filthy, worn-down and poorly air conditioned. Furthermore, straighten out the delays at Jamaica station that occur every day at rush hour. If I’m paying nearly $300 / month for your service, I expect to arrive at my destination on time and in reasonable comfort.

Finding my creative spirit again

I thought since leaving my career as Art Director almost 6 years ago that I would have a tough time re-igniting my creative side. But now owning our first home and expecting our first born has sparked a tremendous sense of creativity. Let’s see where this takes me - stay tuned.

Just learned that one of my best buds - a veteran toy designer and graphic artist - is recently out of work. If you’re looking for a talented and creative leader to join your organization, I’m happy to connect you with him!

Using bundle.com, I took a couple of snapshots of my neighborhood’s spending filtering differently each time. There’s a whole lotta shopping going on!
